| World class fishing for
peacock bass on Amazon river in Brazil.
Brazilian Amazon is famous for its World Record Peacock Bass
fishing and is an excellent destination for anglers with dreams
of landing the Amazon monster from the savagely beautiful
rainforest lagoons. Join us into
that fishing trip of a life time.
Fly Fishing, Spin Fishing.
Sport fishing yachts and commercial fishing boats must stop
where low water prevents passage, and beyond these barriers is
where the great fly fishing and spin fishing starts. River Plate
Outfitters' highly mobile Fly-In Floating Cabins are 4-6 hours
upriver (even in a super fast bass boat) from these fringe
locations. Drawing only 4 inches of water, Fly-In Floating
Cabins navigate past shallow water natural barriers in comfort
and style. Wake up every morning next to secluded unfished
lagoons! Another option is new 3 storey floating hotel. Her shallower draft and wider beam will allow us
to better overcome shallow waters to access low fishing pressure
regions. Although the floating hotel is designed to accommodate
20 anglers, it will set a new standard amongst all other
available fishing trips as the most spacious and comfortable
yacht for a maximum party of 8 anglers pampered by a crew of 14.
Spin Fishing Tackle.
We suggest you use our
courtesy XPS Rods with Pro Qualifier Low Profile Bait Cast
reels; however, if you wish to bring your own, we highly
recommend bringing three or four-piece rods. Rods should be long
handled and medium-heavy action with plenty of power for hook
setting/pressuring big fish and recommended for 1-3 ounce lures.
Reels should have a high-speed retrieve ratio. Bring at least
two rods and reels, just in case of break. Most anglers prefer
to use casting rods instead of spinning models. We supply free
of charge 50 LB. Berkley Gorilla Braid.
Lures.
Bomber Long A Minnow 6' colour
Silver Flash, Luhr-Jensen Big Game Wood Chopper 6-3/4 " Colour:
Perch, Cotton 'Redfin' Cordell 7"-1oz colour Chrome/black.
Angling conditions will have you going through a lot of tackle.
Fly Patterns.
Popular streamers include 6-inch (5/0) bi-colored,
heavily-dressed bucktails in red/yellow, olive/white,
black/white, and orange/black. Big Deceivers, Bunnies, Saltwater
Zonkers, Clouser Minnows, and other flashy bait-fish imitations
all take fish. Big saltwater poppers in colours red/yellow and
pearl/olive. Popovic's Silicone Mullet in olive and white is
hard to beat. Fly shade seems more important than colour
depending upon light conditions. For this reason have an
adequate selection of light and dark patterns. We recommend that
you bring at least two dozen streamers and eight or ten poppers,
hooks should be razor sharp.
Fly Rods. Rods should be
fast action models, because they load sinking lines more
efficiently and generally have more 'backbone' than softer
models. Bring at least two fly rods, because they often break
under the 'jungle stress'. Reels don't need to hold a lot of
backing because peacocks don't make long runs, but a smooth
strong drag is essential. Recommended fly rod is a fast action, 9-foot, 7-10 weight rod with
reel.
Fly Lines. Sinking lines
are undoubtedly much more effective than floating lines. A Teeny
'300 T-Series/Sink Tip' is our number one choice, followed by a
Scientific 'Uniform Sink V' full sinker. Also bring a floating
line for poppers and sliders. A line with drastic weight-forward
taper will handle the wind-resistant poppers most effectively. A
small Cotton Minnow Seine is a must to keep your fly line from
tangling in the boat's seats, floorboords, rods etc. Peacocks
are not leader shy. Most fly anglers use a straight shot approx
six feet of 40-50 pound monofilament leader material. You will
need a lot of leader material, because of the peacock's
extremely abrasive teeth.
Accomodation.
Six independent
Fly-In Floating Cabins are the ultimate solution for optimizing
shallow drafting mobility, comfort and luxury. Our cabins move
daily to unfished river segments overnighting along
Caribbean-like beaches. Walk-in at any time to comfort from the
nearby secluded lagoons to your 10’ X 15’ elegant roomy cabin
with private full bathroom. The cabins are fully carpeted,
tastefully decorated, and every detail has been carefully
considered. Another option is the yacht Blackwater Explorer which features
10 ample 8' x 9' state rooms, each with full bathrooms with
showers, a dinning room with an open bar, satellite TV and
telephone. All rooms are tastefully decorated with wood
panelling finishings and air conditioning. In our spacious
dinning room you will be served meticulously prepared
four-course meals over linen table cloths. The top deck grill
and open bar is the perfect setting to relax with a cold drink
under the Amazon sky amongst friends.
General Equipment.
Lightweight shirts and pants, wide brimmed hat or cap, a lightweight waterproof jacket,
a polar fleece sweatshirt, an extra pair of sandals or sneakers,
polarized sunglasses, sunblock, lip protector.
Travel Arrangements. Fishing trips to
Amazon will be arranged throughout the fishing season and the
packages can be booked according to the client’s preferred dates
subject to availability.

to destination with short flight or with speed boat. After fishing
