Bonefish
fly fishing and spin fishing in Bahama, Bair's Lodge. Since
men have fished for bonefish, Andros has been a name synonymous
with the biggest fish, and South Andros has built a reputation
over the years as being the location to try for a "giant". Names
like Grassy Creek, Deep Creek, Little Creek, the Water Cays and
Curley Cut Cays are intrinsically linked to sight fishing for
some of the world´s largest bonefish.
Fly Fishing, Spin Fishing. Since the early 90´s Bair´s has become
highly regarded as providing the best fishing South Andros has
to offer, primarily for bonefish, with occasional tarpon and
permit. Bonefishing is a mainstay of
fishing here, with miles of crystal clear, wadeable flats. While
wading Bair's extensive flats, you will sight fish to large
schools of bonefish as well as smaller groups and singles.
Bonefishing is consistently good throughout the year.
Other species encountered include barracuda, jacks and several snappers. The area consists of
several different types of flats that can be waded and fished
from special skiffs (boats). The fishing will be done mainly with single hand fly
or spin rod.
The fishing guide will take you by boat to a range
of interesting and challenging fishing locations and show where
and when to cast. The guides know the local waters
intimately and speak fluent English.
Fly Fishing Tackle.
For fly fishing in Bair's we recommend 9 ' feet single handed
rods for lines #8-11 and suitable fly reels with good quality
brakes and 200-300 m strong backing. Floating tropical WF fly
lines are most used fly lines. Flies like Gotcha, Crazy Charlie
and Bonefish bitter will work well for bonefish.
Accomodation. The guests will be accommodated at Bair's
lodge. Double bedrooms with air-conditioning.
The Lodge includes dining
area and bar. Meals are a tasty Caribbean and
International dishes. Fresh seafood and home-baked pastries are standard fare.
Travel Arrangements. Fishing trips to Bair's will be
arranged throughout the fishing season and the packages can be
booked according to the client’s preferred dates subject to

an international flight to Bahama, Nassau take a short flight to
Congo Town, South Andros and continue there with car to the
lodge.
