| Fishing
trips to British Columbia, Fraser
Valley. Fly fishing or spin fishing for salmon.
Fraser Valley is considered as one of the best fishing areas in
British Columbia. Salmon fishing is unique in the entire world.
Nowhere can a larger number of migrating salmon be found than in
Fraser River and its tributaries, often 30 million plus salmon per season.
Fraser. The Fraser Valley offers five
spectacular Salmon rivers: Fraser, Harrison, Chilliwack/Wedder, Chehalis
and
Stave rivers. There are also 195 lakes in the area, mostly within
about a 45 minut drive. We can fish both with fly rods and with
spinning gear. The Fraser valley also offers good
trout fishing throughout the year. The Cutthroat trout are the
dominat species but there are also good opportunities for rainbow,
dolly varden and steelhead. There is also excellent giant white
sturgeon fishing in area.
Fishing season.
Fishing for salmon begins in June
for king salmon and continues through until late November.
Between August and November we fish for sockeye salmon, pink salmon,
coho salmon and chum salmon. Sturgeon fishing season lasts round the year. The
best season for cutthroat trout fishing is from October to April.
Steelhead fishing is at its best from mid February to mid April.
Dolly varden fishing peak is in autumn when salmon are spawning.
Fly Fishing, Spin Fishing.
Fishing can be done with fly fishing gear or with spin fishing
equipment and by wading or from the fishing boat. The professional
fishing guide will pick you up from your accomodation in the morning
and will take you to the river or the lake you want. He will show
you the places, techiques and so on. In the afternoon when the
fishing day is over he will bring you back to the accomodation.
Fishing Tackle.
For fly fishing in
British Columbia
we recommend 12-15 foot double handed rods for lines #8-11 or
single hand rods for lines 8-9 and
suitable fly reels with good quality brakes. Intermediate or
different sinking tip shooting heads are most used fly lines.
Good flies are for example:
Glo Bug, Green Spruce, Harrison Special, Pearlabou, Pink Passion,
Pink Polar Shrimp, Pixies revenge, Leech, Rolled Muddler, Russian
Fly, Woolly Bugger, Egg Suck’n Leech, Popcicle. Spin
fishing rods should be long handled and medium-heavy action and
recommended for 1-3 ounce lures. Most used lures are spoons. The
hooks should be single hooks and barbless. Fishing guide has all
fishing tackle needed with him including flies and lures.
Accomodation.
Accomodation for fishermen is in hotel in
Chilliwack town.
The hotel is
centrally located very close to fishing places and other services. Double bedroom,
breakfast and lunch are included in price. There is a good restaurant and pub in hotel.
Travel Arrangements. Fishing
trips
to British Columbia will be arranged throughout the fishing season and the packages can
be booked according to the client’s preferred dates subject to
availability. Anglers
will take international flight to Vancouver. The guide will be
waiting on the airport and take you to the hotel by car.
It's only about one and half hour's drive to Chilliwack.
