trips to Chile, Cinco Rios Lodge.
In the winter, escape from the Northern Hemisphere and head
south to the peaceful depths of Chilean Patagonia which basks in
spring and summer warmth. The word awesome describes well this
spot in the depths of the incredible Patagonian Andes. Their
peaks, heavily encased in glaciers, protectively surround you.
Cinco Rios located above the historic city of Coyhaique in
Southern Chile, is a full service lodge where we can house up to
twelve guests.
Peaceful and secluded, the Rio Simpson area is a birdwatcher's
paradise for Andean condors, Chilean Southern-ringed
kingfishers, eagles, ibis, torrent ducks, and parakeets.
Tropical wild plants abound: bamboo, fuchsia, lilies,
honeysuckle, nasturtium, lupine, and mammoth rhubarb only begin
the list. Nature's wonders abound for fly fishers,
photographers, and hikers. You encounter glaciers, tropical
flowers and temperate rainforests without the dangers of
poisonous snakes and spiders. Explore the city of Coyhaique with
it's woolen goods, other items, and historic places of interest.
Fly Fishing.
Each of our guides has four or more years experience fishing and
exploring these waters. They are both native Chilean and American.
Our equipment includes jet powered boats, rubber rafts with
high-back seats, Zodiacs with jet engines and good vehicles with
trailers to reach all the waters we fish. Streams and fishing in
this area are within 45 minutes from Cinco Rios. Many of the streams
have seldom, if ever, been fished; some have been discovered only
recently. The streams offer diverse fishing; incredible, exciting
dry fly action; and, challenging sight fishing in pristine, clean
waters. Some brown trout, only accessible by our jet boats because
of limited roads, have never seen a dry fly. Large fish abound with
many Browns over 18 inches.
Fishing season.
The season at Cinco Rios Chile runs from the first of December
through the first week of April.
Accomodation. The guests will stay at all inclusive
Cinco Rios Lodge.
A main Quincho or Great Room invites guests to relax, swap fish
stories, and make plans for the next day's angling. Also located in
the main building is the dining room where both breakfast and dinner
will be served. Here guests prepare their individual streamside
lunches and meet for social hour after fishing.
Travel Arrangements. Fishing
trips to Chile, Cinco Rios
will be arranged throughout the fishing season and the packages can
be booked according to the client’s preferred dates subject to
availability. Anglers
will take international flight to Chile, Santiago and take another
flight to Balmaceda, meet guide there and continue with guide's car
to the lodge.
