Fishing - Alaska, Kenai

Fishing trips to Alaska, Kenai and Kasilof Rivers. In Alaska you will find yourself in a world as it was meant to be, the air is pure, the land full of life and where thousands of salmon return every year. The guests will stay in modern fishing lodge, dine on fantastic meals and experience breathtaking views that exhibit Alaska's majesty. The fishing lodge is located on the beatiful Kenai River, it is rated one of Alaskas world class salmon rivers.

Kenai and Kasilof Rivers. Kenai River is known throughout the world for its abundance of big salmon. While the fish in the Kasilof River are slightly smaller, they are also there in abundance. It is an all around quieter experience, as there are less people and it is a drift-only river. The Kenai and Kasilof Rivers have four species of Pacific Salmon that return to spawn in Alaska, as well as Rainbow Trout, Dolly Varden and Steelhead.

Fishing season. King Salmon is the first species to enter the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers from mid May till the end of July. Sockeye (red salmon), is the second species to enter the Kenai River from mid June until the second week of August. We target for them from the first week of July through the second week of August. Next salmon to enter the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers, from the 10th of August on, are the Coho (Silver Salmon) and, if it is an even year, Pink Salmon. Peak times for Rainbows and Dolly Vardens are the last weeks of June and mid-August through October.

Fly Fishing, Spin Fishing. The professional fishing guide will take you to the hot spots of the river, he will show you the places and techiques. Both single and double handed fly and spin fishing rods can be used. We can use many different techniques to catch these Alaska Salmon. Back trolling plugs and divers with bait are the preferred methods for those huge Kenai King Salmon, while fly fishing is the technique we use to catch the feisty Sockeye Salmon. We have three different techniques to catch the acrobatic Coho Salmon. You can cast flies or a spinner in back eddies, back bounce, or back troll plugs and divers with bait. Your fishing guides will assist you in catching an Alaskan trophy.

Accomodation. The guests will stay at Lodge by Kenai River, double bedrooms. It is surrounded by nature and is located on the shore of the river.

Travel Arrangements. Fishing trips to Alaska will be arranged throughout the fishing season and the packages can be booked according to the client’s preferred dates. Anglers will take a flight to Anchorage and continue there with rental car to the lodge.
