Fly Fishing - Canada, Newfoundland

Fly fishing for Atlantic salmon on Newfoundland rivers in Canada. The pristine salmon and trout rivers of Newfoundland offer excellent opportunities for a fishing trip with outstanding catches and scenery. We offer regular and trophy atlantic salmon fly fishing lodges with the ability to fish as many as a dozen salmon rivers in western Newfoundland, Canada. Our salmon fishing lodges include rivers renowned for trophy class atlantic salmon. Our full amenities main salmon fishing lodge is located on the banks of the famed Humber River, Newfoundland, Canada. Atlantic salmon fly fishing and brook trout fly fishing with full time professional Newfoundland guides.

Fly fishing. Salmon Rivers we fish are: Sop's Arm River, Upper Humber, Lower Humber, Lomond River, Goose Arm River, Serpentine River, Pinchgut River, Harry's River, Fox Island River, South West River, Bottom Brook, Little Barachois River, Flat Bay River and Fishell's Brook. Late July to October is best for pursuing trophy class salmon that traditionally have to be a least 20 pounds to count as a big fish on the Lower Humber River. We cast flies to fish this size everyday in late July and August. The largest river we fish is the Humber River with 30,000 to 50,000 atlantic salmon and untold brook trout in an annual run. Although not a huge river like those on the mainland of the Continent or Europe, this is our only west coast river which truely suits Spey casting. A typical smaller stream we fish is Serpentine River which we explore by canoe. This little stream has an excellent density of fish with a typical run of over 1500 salmon and likely over 1500 trout over a pound and some huge 4 and 5 pound trout are caught annually. Almost all rivers are very clear while some have a little natural tannin staining from the tundra of the headwaters. All western Newfoundland rivers are surrounded by the Long Range mountains which are 500 to 2600 feet in elevation and every guest is impressed with the beauty and wildness of the area.

Fishing season.  From June 1 to October 8th. All fish must be released after early September. From June to early August we usually have high season.
