| Spin Fishing or Fly Fishing for legendary golden
mahseer – the water tiger. Specially designed fishing trip on the Ramganga River in northern India.
Ramganga. Ramganga river flows through
Corbett National park and is the lifeline of the area. The
wilderness and flora and fauna makes Corbett National park
an ideal destination for your trip. It is a region surrounded by
dense forest with presense of great wildlife such as tigers,
leopards, elephants and around 600 species of birds and a lot more.
Ramganga is located only 300 km nort-east from Delhi.
So this is
an ideal program for businessmen or traveller staying at Delhi and for all those seeking new adventures.
Fly Fishing, Spin Fishing. River Ramganga offers a great opportunity for
golden
mahseer and gounch angling expeditions. It is a pure wild
experience which involves great fishing with overnights in wild. Fishing in
places where very few anglers have casted
for mahseer with local fishing guides is a different experience.
Their stories and knowledge will make one realise the how
legendary is the forest and how fortunate one is to be there.
Ramganga is
probably the only fishing destination where one can cast right
inside tiger territory. The largest mahseer caught in this part
of Ramganga river is amazing 70 lbs.
Spin Fishing Tackle.
We suggest long
handled and medium-heavy action spinning or casting rods with plenty of power for hook
setting and pressuring big mahseer and recommended for 1-3 ounce lures.
If you wish to bring your own, we highly recommend bringing
three or four-piece rods. Reels should have a high-speed retrieve ratio. Bring at least
two rods and reels, just in case of break.
Lures.
Bomber Long A Minnow 4-6' colour
Silver Flash, Yo-Zuri wobblers in different colours:
silver/black, green/gold. Mepps Spinners number 4 and 5, colours
silver and gold.
Fly Rods. Fly rods should be
fast action models, because they load lines more
efficiently and generally have more power than softer
models. Bring at least two fly rods, because they often break
under the 'jungle stress'. Recommended fly rod is a fast action,
9-foot, 7-10 weight rod with matching good quality reel with
disc drag.
Fly Patterns.
Popular streamers include 4-6-inch (1/0-4/0) bi-colored,
heavily-dressed bucktails in red/yellow, olive/white,
black/white. Big Deceivers, Bunnies,
Zonkers, Clouser Minnows and other flashy bait-fish imitations
all take fish. Fly shade seems more important than colour
depending upon light conditions. For this reason have an
adequate selection of light and dark patterns. We recommend that
you bring at least two dozen streamers,
hooks should be razor sharp.
Accomodation
and meals. Accommodation standard will be combination of
hotel, forest rest house and jungle camp in remote regions.
Well trained and
experienced staff will take care of your appetite, the food
is wide range of Continental and Indian cuisines.
Travel Arrangements. Fishing trips to India, Ramganga will be arranged throughout the fishing season and the
packages can be booked according to the client’s preferred dates.
Customers take a flight to Delhi and the guide will
pick up the customers from airport.
