Good fishing week despite fishing
slowing a bit at our Gaula
beat.
Water level raised up to 140 cubics and then dropped slowly to 35
cubics and water temperature
was 10-12 degrees. The fishing conditions were good and nice catches were made, also some
sealiced, fresh
fish. This 9 days period's total catch of our beat was 15 fish: 14 salmon and
1 seatrout. So the total catch of the season 2009 at our Gaula
Flyfishing beat was again very good 251 fish: 236 salmon and 15
seatrout.

Good fishing week again at our Gaula
Flyfishing beat.
Water level raised up to 330 cubics and then dropped slowly to 80
cubics and water temperature
was 10-12 degrees. The fishing conditions by the river were
very good and some very good catches were made, also some very fresh
fish. This week's total catch of our beat was 20 fish: 18 salmon and
2 seatrout. Petri Varis caught biggest fish of the week. This
big salmon
took Black Sheep fly at Bruahölen pool and weighed 10,8 kg. He
released the fish after taking photos.

Good fishing week at our Gaula
Flyfishing beat.
Water level raised up to 140 cubics and then dropped slowly to 50
cubics and water temperature
dropped to 13 degrees. So the conditions by the Gaula river were
good. This week's total catch of our beat was 20 fish: 17 salmon and
3 seatrout. Kolja Vehlje visited our beat first time and caught 2
seatrout and 3 salmon including the biggest fish of the week. This
nice salmon
took Pathagorva fly at Stasjonshölen pool and weighed 10,0 kg.

Excellent fishing week again.
Water level dropped slowly from 55
cubics to 25 cubics and water temperature
was 14-17 degrees. This week's catch result was same as last week; total of 33 fish was caught at our beat: 32 salmon and 1 seatrout.
One of the best August weeks ever for us. Most of the salmon caught
this week were bright and sealiced. The biggest fish of
the week was caught by Toni Vahtola at Sanden pool. This big salmon
weighed 12,0 kg. He also caught a 3,7 kg at Bruahölen. Another regular
guest Pekka Auramaa did again well and landed 8,2 and 4,2 and 2,3 kg salmon.

Best fishing week so far this
season in variable conditions.
In the beginning of the week we had heavy rain that raised
Gaula water level up to 290 cubics and then dropped back to normal
summer level 55
cubics towards the end of week. Water temperature
was 11-14 degrees. This week total of 33 fish was caught at our
Gaula Flyfishing beat: 32 salmon and 1 seatrout. The biggest fish of
the week; 8,7 kg salmon was caught by Antero Jaska at Sanden pool. Our regular
guest Jorma Ahtonen did again well and landed 8,0 and 7,0 and 3,8
and 2,1 kg salmon.
18-25.7.2009
Fishing continued well in variable conditions.
In the beginning of the week we had very heavy rain that raised
Gaula water level up to 930 cubics and then dropped fast back to 75
cubics towards the end of the week. Water temperature
was 11-14 degrees. This week total of 27 fish was caught at our
Gaula Flyfishing beat: 24 salmon and 3 seatrout. The biggest fish of
the week and also whole season so far was 16,0 kg salmon and was caught by
Johan Petter Cappelen-Dahl at Gyllsaga pool with Black & Green tube.
11-18.7.2009
Again good fishing week in variable conditions.
This week 24 salmon was caught at our Gaula Flyfishing beat.
Most of the salmon caught here were 2 sw or 3 sw fish. This season
we seems to have very high average size of salmon. The biggest fish of 11,3 kg salmon was caught by
Mika Kosonen at Sanden pool. He also caught 5,0 kg salmon at Svingen
pool and 2 grilse. The weather was varied and well suitable for
fishing. Water level fluctuated between 120 and 50 cubics during the week. Water temperature
was 13-14 degrees.

A good fishing week in variable conditions.
This week total of 25 fish was caught at our Gaula Flyfishing beat:
24 salmon and 1 seatrout.
Most of the salmon were 2 sw or 3 sw fish in excellent
condition and also some grilse was caught. The biggest fish of 13,1 kg salmon was caught by
myself at Bruahölen pool. Kenneth Lundell caught total of 4 salmon;
6,3 and 2,9 and 1,5 and 0,8 kg. Jarmo Näppi caught 8,0 and 3,3 and
1,5 kg salmon. The weather was sunny and very warm in the beginning
of the week but changed to rainy and colder in the middle of the
week and fishing improved. Water level raised from 40 cubics to 80 cubics during the week. Water temperature
dropped from 18 to moderate 13 degrees.

A good fishing week in challenging
sunny and warm weather conditions.
Total of 22 fish was caught at our Gaula Flyfishing beat this week:
19 salmon and 3 seatrout.
Most of the salmon were 2 sw or 3 sw fish and in excellent
condition. The biggest fish of 11,7 kg salmon was caught by Steen
Maier at Sanden pool. He also caught 10,6 kg salmon at the same pool
and 9,8 kg at Bruahölen and 6,5 kg salmon at Svingen. Stefan Sieber
caught 8,7 kg strong salmon at Gyllteigen pool with Green Highlander
fly and 3,1 kg salmon at Stasjonshölen pool. The weather was sunny and very warm and water level was
dropping from 100 cubics to 60 cubics during the week. Water temperature was 15-16 degrees.
20-27.6.2009
A difficult fishing week in challenging conditions.
This week our fly fishermen caught 6 big salmon weighing between 6,5
and 13,0 kg.
The biggest fish was caught by Ilkka Neva at Gyllsaga pool. Jari
Koski caught and released 8,1 kg salmon at Bruahölen pool wit Green
Butt fly. The weather was sunny and very warm and water level was
dropping from 450 cubics to 100 cubics during the week. Water temperature was 9-15 degrees.
13-20.6.2009
Ok fishing week in challenging conditions.
This week our fly fishermen caught total of 12 salmon
from our Gaula Flyfishing beat fish weighing between 2,0 and 10,2 kg.
The biggest fish was caught by Tony Ganemyr at Sanden pool with
Garry fly. He also caught a 8,0 kg salmon at same pool with same
fly. Jens Fischer caught a salmon of 10,1 kg at Rönningen pool with
Pathagorva fly. Most part of the salmon caught were 6-10
kg. The weather was cloudy, rainy and cold and water level was
fluctuating between 360 and 120 cubics and water temperature was 7-9 degrees.

Good fishing week in very good
conditions. Our group of fly fishermen caught total of 14 big salmon
weighing between 6,5 and 14,7 kg. Most part of the salmon being 8-10
kg. The weather was variable, mostly cloudy and water level was
between 160 and 120 cubics and water temperature was 8-9 degrees.

Sometimes the boss
have to show the way... Today I myself was able to catch a big
salmon of 114 cm, estimated about 14,7 kg (my personal record) at our Sanden
pool. I had to follow the salmon all the way into the Bruahölen pool
where we were able to photograf and release this monster salmon.
Also our regular finnish guest Harri Dahlin caught a big salmon of
10,0 kg at the same Sanden pool with same Greenlander fly. Fishing
has been good during the last days, good number of big salmon has
caught from our gorgeous pools.
1-6.6.2009
The opening week of the season was
cold and rainy and water level at Gaula fluctuated between 150 and
250 cubics and water temperature was around 6 degrees. Arve Seths 8
kg salmon was the only one caught at our beat this week. In addition
to this we lost couple good fish after good battle. The water level
was around the edge to fish run the Gaulfossen but only small
numbers did it.
3.6.2009
Arve Seth caught our first
salmon of the season 2009 from Stasjonshölen pool wit Pathagorva fly.
This nice salmon weighed 8,0 kg. The conditions on Gaula river have
improved during the last days and the water level has dropped slowly
to a moderate 150 cubics per second. The weather has been cold and the daytime temperatures
only 10 degrees. The water
temperature is around 6 degrees. Lot of salmon has been caught at
lower river, biggest so far 22,5 kg.
