The catch statistics of the season 2011 of Gaula River in Norway are ready. Total catch of Gaula was 6050 salmon and total weight was 36225 kg, so the average size of caught salmon was about 6 kg. Altogether 1457 salmon were released, which was 23% of the total catch. 204 seatrout were caught, total weight was 256 kg and average size was a bit over 1 kg. All seatrout were released. Excellent fly fishing for grayling, brown trout, marble trout and rainbow trout in Slovenian rivers Sava Bohinjka and Soca. The Gotland is the biggest island of Sweden and is located east of mainland. Fishmaster has leased a new good fishing beat on Gaula River. Evjen beat is 1,1 km long and is located 3 km below Gaulfossen on the West side of the Gaula. Evjen beat catch has varied between 40 and 100 salmon per season. The beat consists two long pools, it is very beautiful and and can be fished most water levels. The beat will be joined to Fishmaster Gaula Flyfishing rotation fishery for the season 2012 and onwards. Fly fishing trips to one of the best salmon rivers in Europe, Tweed in Scotland. Fishmaster arranges hosted fly fishing trips to the Tweed on 23-28.10.2012, 28.10-2.11.2012 ja 6-11.11.2012. This is absolute prime time of the autumn season, during our 2010 November trip our group caught 37 salmon and 2 seatrout. Fishmaster can offer 1 prime time week on 15-22th July 2012 for private 1,5 km long and double sided Östkil beat on middle Stjördal river. The beat will be rented exclusively with nice accomodation in norwegian country house for the groups of 4-8 persons for one week at a time. Total catch of the season 1.6-31.8.2011 at our Fishmaster Gaula Flyfishing beat in Norway was excellent 385 fish divided into 370 salmon/grilse and 15 seatrout. 208, also 54 % of these caught fish were released. The biggest salmon of our Gaula beat this season was caught by myself, I caught this big 15,1 kg (c&r) salmon at Röskaft Söndre Vest pool on 1st of June. Average weight of caught salmon was very good, just a bit under 6 kg. Five best pools of our beat were Stasjonshölen - 85 fish, Bruahölen - 85 fish, Sanden - 78 fish, Röskaft Söndre Vest - 53 fish and Gyllteigen - 26 fish. Jouni Rauha.
